Kakadu Plum Hand Cream

50 ml.  This rich handmade, emolient hand lotion is powered by Kakadu Plum extract in Macadamia, Grapeseed, Sweet Almond and Jojobas Oils with Vitamin E.
 
Kakadu Plum became famous when it was found to contain extremely high levels of Vitamin C, up to 100 times that which is found in Oranges.  However it also contains 6 times higher phenolic antioxidant concentrations than blueberry.  It's other trace actives keep the Vitamin C in the fruit stabel and active.  Vitamin C is one of the most potent brightening antioxidants meaning it protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure. It also inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance
 
Macadamia Oil contains squalene and oleic acid that assist with cell regeneration, making this oil particularly useful for dry or chapped skin as it softens and moisturises. Oils extracted from macadamia contain omega 7 or palmitoleic acid, which is beneficial for wound healing, wounds, scratches and burns. The macadamia tree is an indigenous species to Australia and is over 60,000 years old. It’s believed it first began growing in the rainforests of northern NSW and there are now more than six million macadamia trees growing in Australia, many of them planted in order to cater to the high demand for macadamia nut oil in personal care products and cosmetics.
 
Grapeseed oil also helps the vitamin E and vitamin C in your skin to be more efficient and effective at preserving your skin. Grapeseed oil evens out skin tone. It also contains a powerful antioxidant ingredient called proanthocyanidin. This antioxidant may even out skin tone when it’s used on your skin consistently.
 
Sweet Almond Oil is both a moisturizer and an emollient.  Moisturizers supply water to the skin and hold it in with an oily substance. Emollients smooth the skin, filling in little gaps. Rather than adding moisture, they help the skin retain it by improving its barrier function.  Many people use almond oil to help treat common skin conditions, such as dermatitis and eczema. In general, there is good evidence that moisturizers improve eczema.  One study showed that a moisturizer containing sweet almond oil reduced the symptoms of moderate or severe hand dermatitis.
 
Jojoba oil is works to seal your skin with a protective barrier to keep it from losing moisture. This may help prevent bacterial infections and acne from forming. Jojoba oil contains natural forms of vitamin E. This vitamin works with your skin as an antioxidant. This means that jojoba oil can help your skin fight oxidative stress caused by everyday exposure to pollutants and other toxins. Although jojoba oil is a botanical substance, its makeup is so similar to the oil (sebum) your body naturally produces that your skin can’t tell the difference. The antioxidants in jojoba oil may help your body produce collagen. Collagen is a protein that’s in your skin and joints as well as the parts of your body made of cartilage.
